November 17th Near Puke

This occured on November 17, and we're past the first trimester, so I can share.

My wife has always had trouble taking her pills, even when not pregnant, but tonight was especially difficult.  I could hear her gagging (definatly not out of the ordinary), and after about the third gag I asked if she was okay.  She answered tha she was.

A little while later, she calls and asks if I can turn off the light, which is on a wall that is in the kitchen, but the switch is technically in the living room.  I asked, "In the kitchen?"  She said yes.  So, I complied, and after doing so, I walked into the kitchen and saw my pregnant wife, clad in her blue pajamas, lying on the tile floor, holding a popcorn bucket between her legs.  I asked if she felt sick, and she said yes and that this position was helping her.  I told her we could not use that bucket later if she threw up in it, she agreed, and I brought the bucket we had set aside for puking.  She laid there for a good ten minutes, wishing she could get up, eat her ice cream, and drink the rest of her water.  All I could do was laugh, and she did the same.  Being pregnant is so much fun... for the dad. :)

  1. :( Poor Brielle. Sounds like she had it rough. I didn't have it so bad. I hope she's feeling better in the 2nd trimester.

  2. Being pregnant is fun all around. My wife is ready to give birth. She is done being preggers. Although, I cannot blame her. If I had our child in me for this long, I would have already killed someone. hahah.

  3. Can't say I'm familiar with the experience myself. Not yet anyway. Based on my wife's track record with pain & discomfort, I expect my patience to be severely tested. But, in the end, I guess it'll be worth it. Hang in there, you two.

  4. Poor thing. I can't really imagine how that feels, having not thrown up even once when I was pregnant and not having a problem taking pills. Hope it dosen't last the whole pregnancy.

  5. Oh, I hope she is better now. There is nothing that compares to pregnant sick...

  6. @ Katie,
    Sadly enough, she's still sick. I hope it eventually goes away.

    @ Brad,
    Yeah, I don't blame her. I don't think I could do it... not just for biological reasons. :)

    @ Vinny,
    Yeah, my wife got sick a lot and stuff before all of this and the pregnancy only intensifies... Yay!!!

    @Alittlesprite
    I hope that too...

    @ Missy
    I wouldn't know, but I'll take your word. :)

  7. Dude. Never take away your wife's puke bucket or suggest another. Let her throw up in the potted plants if necessary. Just clean it up and tiptoe out of there. Believe me. I know.
